Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead. It is considered the most important Christian
holiday and is celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full
moon after the vernal equinox, usually falling between March 22 and
April 25. Easter is preceded by Lent, a period of 40 days of fasting,
prayer, and repentance, and is followed by a 50-day period of
celebration called Eastertide. The holiday is marked by various
traditions, such as attending church services, exchanging Easter eggs
and chocolates, and participating in Easter egg hunts.
